About The Position

The position involves conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems with a focus on customer satisfaction. The role requires mentoring control technicians and service technicians, ensuring high levels of service, and providing solutions to building inefficiencies. The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex control systems, consulting with customers, and managing assigned work efficiently.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Vocational School program graduate or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of systems.
  • Mentor control technicians, service technicians, and mechanical technicians.
  • Provide high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site customer interface.
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions.
  • Consult with customers through data gathered and site assessments.
  • Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Assist sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.
  • Manage assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Promote the sale of add-on work.
  • Provide safety leadership and instruction to all control technicians.
  • Conduct extensive self-study to improve technical proficiency.
  • Assist in the design and configuration of building control systems.
  • Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and electrical schematics.
  • Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
  • Assist in performing site-specific training for owner/operator.
