About The Position

Amentum is seeking an HVAC Tech IV to join our operations & maintenance team. This position is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, servicing, and documenting the control needs of equipment and systems related to HVAC units for commercial buildings, data centers, production equipment, motors, pumps, control circuits, VFDs, PLCs, and compressors. The HVAC Tech IV must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.

Requirements

Five years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Universal – EPA 608 Technician Certification.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in industrial technology or certificate from an industrial HVAC course
Experience working around 480V 3 phase electrical systems.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing air handler units.
Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing, Siemens PLC’s, Allen Bradley RS Logix Software.
Experience installing new compressors in package units.
Working knowledge of energy centers including chillers, pumps and cooling towers.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing all components inside a refrigerant system.
Experience with a CMMS or Maintenance Management System (i.e. Maximo, MP2, etc.)
Experience maintaining walk-in coolers and freezers.

Responsibilities

Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Calibrates instrumentation equipment and controls for optimum performance.
Procures parts from crib systems, OEM, or authorized vendors.
Identifies and documents cost savings.
Utilizes the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.
Utilizes strong mechanical skills to complete assignments.
Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
