About The Position

The Hydraulic Painter plays a critical role in ensuring the longevity and aesthetic quality of hydraulic equipment and machinery through expert surface preparation and painting. The Hydraulic Painter must work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to understand the specific requirements of each project and select appropriate materials and techniques. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards are paramount to achieving durable and visually appealing finishes. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the reliability and performance of hydraulic systems used across various industries in the United States.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in industrial painting, preferably with hydraulic or heavy machinery components.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and painting application methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and safety data sheets.
  • Familiarity with safety standards related to painting and handling of hazardous materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in industrial painting or coatings application.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems or in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
  • Training in OSHA safety standards and hazardous materials handling.
  • Ability to operate spray painting equipment and perform color matching.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to understand hydraulic component structures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare hydraulic equipment surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and removing old paint or rust to ensure proper adhesion of new coatings.
  • Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for defects or inconsistencies and perform touch-ups or rework as necessary to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule painting tasks and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Document work performed, including materials used and time spent, to support maintenance records and compliance requirements.
