As an Engineering Project Manager within the Product Design organization you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation process for one of our iPhone Product Design teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of cross-functional partners and external vendors to meet overall program objectives.
- Focus on mechanical engineering design, development planning, and validation cycles of new iPhones.
- Deep dive into material fundamentals and creatively solve challenging logistics and technical problems.
- Collaborate and work well with inter-disciplinary teams to deliver the best material solutions and products.
- Drive day-to-day activities to meet overall project objectives.
- Create and manage project schedules.
- Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management.
Requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity.
- Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to lead multi-functional communication between project teams and external vendors.
- BS Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years of combined experience in NPI project management and mechanical engineering.
- Ability to travel/work internationally 25% of the year.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience collaborating with and facilitating communication across Design, Engineering, Operations teams and OEM partners.
- Ability to independently drive projects through rapid development cycles and deliver a product.
- Detailed knowledge of product development processes and strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision making.
- Provide project status across a wide spectrum of contributors to executive management.
