About The Position

PAX Health is a leading mental and behavioral health organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals facing mental health challenges. We are seeking a licensed Psychologist or Neuropsychologist to conduct Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) in or around Ocean County, New Jersey. This role focuses on objective, non-treatment psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for medico-legal cases, including workers’ compensation, disability, and personal injury matters. The psychologist will review medical records, conduct clinical interviews and testing as appropriate, and prepare clear, well-supported written reports addressing referral questions. This position is ideal for a clinician with strong diagnostic and assessment skills who is interested in the forensic and evaluative side of mental health practice. Evaluations may include: · Interview-Only IMEs Clinical interview and record review without formal testing (e.g., PTSD, concussion, psychological injury). · Standard Psychological IMEs Comprehensive psychological interview with administration of standardized psychological testing as clinically indicated. · Full Neuropsychological IMEs Comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations including cognitive, memory, attention, and performance/symptom validity testing.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology
  • Active and unrestricted New Jersey psychologist license
  • Strong clinical diagnostic and assessment skills
  • Experience conducting psychological evaluations or forensic assessments preferred
  • Experience administering and interpreting performance and symptom validity measures
  • Excellent written communication skills for report preparation
  • Ability to conduct evaluations in-person in Ocean County, NJ
  • Prior IME or forensic evaluation experience preferred
  • Spanish-speaking ability (highly preferred)
  • Experience with PTSD, concussion, and neuropsychological testing
  • Experience working with workers’ compensation, disability, or personal injury cases

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), including interview-only, standard psychological, and comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations
  • Review and analyze medical, psychological, and collateral records prior to examinations
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological and neuropsychological tests, including performance and symptom validity measures when appropriate
  • Integrate clinical findings with record review to provide objective forensic opinions regarding diagnosis, functional limitations, and symptom validity
  • Prepare clear, detailed, and well-supported written reports addressing referral questions
  • Maintain impartiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards for independent evaluations
  • Complete reports within agreed-upon timeframes
  • Provide deposition or court testimony regarding evaluations if requested
