About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an Immersive Classrooms Summer 2026 Intern at UL Research Institutes. This will be a remote position. The Institute for Research Experiences & Education at Underwriters Laboratories is seeking a motivated and dedicated Immersive Classroom intern to join our team for the Summer 2026. This 3-month internship provides a unique opportunity to interact with cutting-edge technology in our newly constructed Immersive Classrooms. This position will provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment and give opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects and develop valuable skills. We translate the findings of our research institutes into compelling educational materials, bringing to life scientific concepts using contemporary best education practices to create learning opportunities for a wide variety of secondary through postgraduate students. Our academic collaborations and support for the next generation of safety scientists likewise reach across the educational spectrum, including partnerships that reach out to students who are underrepresented in STEM fields. Through all of our programs, we aim to unlock the diverse perspectives that are essential for solving the world’s most pressing safety and sustainability issues. What you’ll learn and achieve: As the Immersive Classrooms Summer 2026 Intern you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you: Assist in implementing an Immersive Classroom outreach strategy for our two classroom locations. Support creating presentations and immersive experiences for use in engaging both internal and external audiences. Work closely with the Education Team, Operations Team, and other departments to coordinate an operations management strategy for the Immersive Classrooms. Assist in managing and organizing presentations that achieve deep engagement with partners and community organizations. Act as a liaison between IREE and other stakeholders interested in utilizing the Immersive Classrooms. Stay current with relevant training, updates and trends for immersive spaces. Perform administrative duties as needed, including data entry, scheduling, and coordination of meetings. Requirements

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders at one time.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges in a remote team.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in a related field (e.g. education, project management, leadership, business, etc.). Recent graduates may also be considered.
  • Strong interest in the non-profit sector and education related to safety, social or environmental issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management web-based tools like Monday.com, preferred.
