About The Position

The Incoming Quality Technician is responsible for performing incoming inspection and First Article inspection for all products delivered to the facility. This role requires hands-on inspection using a variety of tools and methods, as well as accurate implementation and documentation of all Quality requirements. The position works closely with cross-functional partners—including Procurement, Engineering, and Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE)—to manage non‑conforming material, resolve supplier issues, and drive quality performance. The Incoming Quality Technician owns all work instructions, documentation, training, and overall success for the incoming inspection area.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with dial calipers, micrometers, and other standard inspection tools.
  • Ability to input data into computer systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong basic math and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
  • Strong problem‑solving capability with the ability to resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to peers and management.
  • High School Diploma required; technical degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Hard Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, or Materials Science preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing, technology, or mechanical fields preferred.
  • Quality Control / Quality Assurance experience highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; proficient in the use of inspection tools; able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced and rapidly growing environment.
  • Detail‑oriented, accurate, and timely, with strong analytical capability.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and results‑oriented performance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; intermediate proficiency in other MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of calibration requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to manage non‑conforming material for incoming inspection and production (MRB).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with SolidWorks Inspector software is a plus.
  • Experience using FARO CAM 2024 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, First Article, and raw material inspections in accordance with established procedures.
  • Comply with the Material Certification system, including maintenance of material logs, certifications, and identification of remnants.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering change notices, and operating procedures.
  • Identify, document, and report non‑conformances following established processes.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and SQE to address non‑conforming parts and support corrective action activities.
  • Work directly with suppliers to resolve minor quality issues and ensure timely closure.
  • Own, maintain, and update all work instructions and controlled documents for the incoming inspection area.
  • Own and deliver training for incoming inspection processes, documentation, equipment usage, and area standards to ensure inspector competency and compliance.
  • Own the flow, performance, and issue resolution within the incoming inspection area.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, records, and documentation.
  • Conduct daily audits as required to ensure process and quality compliance.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process consistency, efficiency, and overall product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
