About The Position

The Individual Giving Manager reports to the Director of Development and will have primary responsibility for leading CASA/LA’s individual giving efforts, setting strategy and executing fundraising campaigns for sustaining and growing the number of annual donors, the size of individual gifts, and converting annual donors to major donors. This individual will spend the majority of time identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors. They will be responsible for working closely with their supervisor and CASA staff members to promote the acquisition of individual gifts and to coordinate those efforts.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of successful experience in non-profit fundraising with demonstrated success in the cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of individual donors.
  • Experience managing a donor portfolio and working toward defined fundraising goals.
  • Proven experience creating successful giving programs, including but not limited to annual appeals and monthly giving campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience in building authentic donor relationships.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and develop relationships with a wide range of individuals. A high level of comfort in reaching out to colleagues and prospects alike to establish contact and develop relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the mission, programs and activities of CASA/LA.
  • Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision; sStrong project management skills, including exceptional attention to detail.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness in setting priorities and managing resources in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor database systems. Some evening and weekend work will be required to successfully meet the job responsibilities.
  • Reliable transportation for meetings and fundraising events
  • Valid California Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects with defined annual revenue and activity goals.
  • Maintain a forward-looking pipeline that supports annual and multi-year revenue targets.
  • Track progress toward portfolio goals using CRM reporting and pipeline management tools.
  • Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies designed to increase retention and upgrade giving levels, moving donors towards major giving.
  • Create strategies around and manage monthly giving, Donor Advised Funds and planned giving.
  • Collaborate with DOD to design annual individual giving campaigns and year-round donor engagement strategies.
  • Play a lead role in reaching out to donors and prospects, conducting regular outreach in coordination with the CEO, DOD, and board members.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with donor prospects and donors, engaging in a level of planned cultivation and solicitation activity to ensure achievement of fundraising goals.
  • Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and engagement strategies to support leadership, volunteer, and staff fundraising efforts.
  • Create coordinated and meaningful stewardship experiences that align with CASA LA’s mission and values.
  • Attend all CASA/LA events and represent CASA/LA at community events and other occasions to interact with current and potential supporters and to provide an exceptional donor experience.
  • Identify potential donors, through research, networking, events, and volunteer engagement.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in the CRM. Ensure timely entry of interactions and relationship updates.
  • Work closely with Development Associate to support reporting and data integrity.
  • Regularly monitor donor engagement and portfolio activity to support achievement of individual giving revenue goals.
  • Supports cross-departmental efforts to identify engagement opportunities that build a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
  • Completes special projects as assigned and required.
