About The Position

The intern will support the Cultural Resource Operation at Mesa Verde National Park, working primarily as a member of the NHPA-compliance team, whose goal is to support crucial park infrastructure projects while protecting the park’s cultural resources. The intern would also assist with site preservation and stabilization projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid state-issued drivers license
  • All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger.
  • Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel
  • Data entry experience
  • Technical writing experience

Responsibilities

  • Participating in archeological survey, site documentation, and condition assessment tasks
  • Monitoring construction activities to identify, document, and protect cultural resources
  • Collecting geospatial data for site and project documentation
  • Performing data entry and data management tasks
  • Assisting with site preservation and stabilization projects
  • Maintaining equipment, gear, and vehicles as needed.

Benefits
