About The Position

Build the brains of packaging machines Join a respected, family-owned manufacturer in the West Chicagoland Area that rebuilds and customizes packaging machinery. As the team expands to support rental packaging equipment, we’re hiring an Industrial Controls Panel Wiring Technician who’s eager to develop and grow. Position details Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months) Start Date: Early February Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pay Rate: $20–$25/hour Location: West Chicagoland Area

Requirements

1+ years in panel wiring, electrical assembly, or industrial electrical work
Ability to read and apply electrical schematics
Hands-on wiring skills with basic troubleshooting capability
High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of electrical components, wiring methods, and circuitry
Familiarity with NEC, UL, or other applicable electrical/safety standards
Exposure to packaging machinery or OEM equipment builds
Experience performing panel retrofits or upgrades

Responsibilities

Fabricate and wire industrial control panels for packaging machinery
Install and mount terminal blocks, relays, power supplies, drives, and related devices
Interpret schematics and redlines to cut, strip, label, and route wiring accurately
Conduct basic continuity checks; assist with panel checkout and verification
Execute modifications and rework on legacy panels as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workbench and shop area
