About The Position

Concept & Development Conceive and develop innovative product concepts that improve how customers work. Create sketches, storyboards, and refined CAD to communicate design intent. Build and iterate 3D models and physical prototypes to evaluate form, fit, and usability. Support Voice of Customer (VoC) research; document user needs, workflows, and opportunities. Participate in user testing; incorporate feedback to improve usability, ergonomics, and aesthetics. Partner with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness. Recommend and document colors, materials, finishes (CMF) and textures aligned to brand and use case. Present concepts and progress in design reviews to gain alignment and buy-in. Prepare design specifications, drawings, and documentation that support fabrication and assembly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design
  • Proficiency in CAD Rhino preferred; others acceptable
  • Adobe Creative Suite Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Strong portfolio showing process (research → concepts → prototypes), sketching, 3D surfacing, and final outcomes
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience (internships/co-ops count)
  • Sensitivity to form, proportion, and detail with excellent conceptual sketching
  • Excellent 3D surfacing/modeling (Rhino preferred)
  • Clear, thoughtful visual and verbal storytelling in presentations
  • Team-minded, open to feedback, and capable of giving constructive critique

Nice To Haves

  • Strong new grads considered
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and techniques (3D printing, shop tools)
  • Knowledge of ergonomics/human factors and design for manufacturing/assembly (DFMA) a plus
  • Rendering/animation experience (KeyShot preferred)
  • Comfort in Windows environments; Microsoft 365/Office, Adobe CC
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and deliver on deadlines
