About The Position

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Knight’s Redi-Mix, Knight’s Precast, and Knight’s Companies’ electrical systems, to include all plants, batching equipment, office buildings, and other applicable systems/structures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical installations and repairs required.
  • Current Electrical Contractor’s license, or the ability to obtain licensing within a reasonable period of time.
  • Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely use miscellaneous tools, such as sledgehammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pneumatic hammer/drill.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others.
  • Must be able to work varying work shifts with varying start and stop times.
  • Ability to travel is required.
  • Overtime work plus nights and weekends may be required.
  • Experience complying with OSHA and state environmental regulations required.
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift, stretch, push, pull, twist, kneel, stand, walk, sit, reach, and operate a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to safely climbing up and down stairs and/or ladders.
  • Ability to work primarily outside, with possible exposure to the extremes of hot or cold weather.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a ready mix concrete plant strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture while upholding the company’s core values.
  • Routinely assess current electrical systems to proactively identify potential issues. Report needed upgrades and/or repairs needed to the Plant Maintenance Manager for review and scheduling.
  • Communicate with Plant Maintenance Manager, Plant Managers, and other plant personnel to assess and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing automated, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, VFDs, and sensors.
  • Installing conduit, wiring, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Adhering to local, state, and national electrical codes, and conducting regular safety inspections.
  • Reading blueprints, schematic diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and technical data in logs.
  • Perform other duties as required.
