About The Position

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Knight’s Redi-Mix, Knight’s Precast, and Knight’s Companies’ electrical systems, to include all plants, batching equipment, office buildings, and other applicable systems/structures.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical installations and repairs required.
Current Electrical Contractor’s license, or the ability to obtain licensing within a reasonable period of time.
Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Ability to safely use miscellaneous tools, such as sledgehammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pneumatic hammer/drill.
Basic computer skills are required.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
Must be able to work cooperatively with others.
Must be able to work varying work shifts with varying start and stop times.
Ability to travel is required.
Overtime work plus nights and weekends may be required.
Experience complying with OSHA and state environmental regulations required.
Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
Ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift, stretch, push, pull, twist, kneel, stand, walk, sit, reach, and operate a computer keyboard.
Ability to safely climbing up and down stairs and/or ladders.
Ability to work primarily outside, with possible exposure to the extremes of hot or cold weather.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a ready mix concrete plant strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture while upholding the company’s core values.
Routinely assess current electrical systems to proactively identify potential issues. Report needed upgrades and/or repairs needed to the Plant Maintenance Manager for review and scheduling.
Communicate with Plant Maintenance Manager, Plant Managers, and other plant personnel to assess and troubleshoot electrical issues.
Troubleshooting and repairing automated, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, VFDs, and sensors.
Installing conduit, wiring, and industrial electrical equipment.
Adhering to local, state, and national electrical codes, and conducting regular safety inspections.
Reading blueprints, schematic diagrams, and technical manuals.
Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and technical data in logs.
Perform other duties as required.
