About The Position

Responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of electrical distribution and wiring systems; and for the design, installation, and maintenance of electronics control systems for equipment and building functionality. Must be able to support all electrical needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years applicable professional experience to include PLC programming, maintaining electrical components, 480V power distribution, complex controls, and automation.
  • Working knowledge of standard electrical and electronic test and measurement equipment as required for the work.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of PLC and digital control devices and wiring methodologies.
  • Must have strong communications skills, verbal and written. This includes basic PC/Internet skills such as E-mail, Word and Excel.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally required to climb heights up to 10 feet, while using Personal Protective Equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of electrical circuits in assigned areas, including all forging equipment, induction heating equipment, CNC machines and building support equipment.
  • Design and develop electronic controls to enhance production equipment through the use of PLCs, various types of input sensors, and pneumatic/electrical outputs.
  • Write moderate to complex control programs and design new control systems.
  • Set up and operate test equipment or PLC program monitoring to evaluate performance of equipment, or systems under operating conditions, and record results.
  • Must maintain all electrical prints and documentation required to troubleshoot plant equipment.
  • Install and maintain motors, motor control circuits, VFD drives, and 480v-power distribution.
  • Operate and use such electronic test equipment as multi meters, frequency generators and counters, galvanometers, digital logic probes, and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledgeable of industrial communications protocols including but not limited to: Profibus, Profinet, Modbus TCP, DF-1, and EtherCAT
  • Operates with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
