Summary of Position As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will play a supportive role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and reducing waste across various operational areas. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply industrial engineering principles in a dynamic, global manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Major(s): Industrial Engineering
  • Class Year(s): Rising Junior, Rising Senior, Recent Graduate
  • GPA: Min 3.0
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required.
  • Effective Communication, Self-starter – Ability to drive work
  • Leadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience
  • Availability: Must be available to work in St. Petersburg, Florida from May 18, 2026 – Aug 7, 2026

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or simulation software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Industrial Engineers in conducting time studies, process flow analysis, and value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to support the development of performance metrics and efficiency reports.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen events, and standard work procedures.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of production layouts, workstations, and material handling systems.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving product quality, reducing cycle times, and decreasing manufacturing costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to gather requirements and implement solutions.
