About The Position

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for an Industrial Engineering Intern in our Seneca, SC facility for the Summer starting in May of 2026. This position is on-site so the ideal candidate will be located in the general area. This will be a full-time position. No visa sponsorship or relocation will be provided for this role. What will you do? As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will support our Manufacturing Engineering team in activities focused on process optimization, project execution, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include: Process & Project Support Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects, including layout changes, capacity improvements, and workflow optimization. Conduct time studies, line balancing, and process mapping to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. Support production line upgrades aimed at increasing efficiency, productivity, and safety. Technical & Analytical Work Research, design, and support the implementation of manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment. Analyze existing components and processes to support simplification, standardization, and cost‑reduction initiatives. Investigate, document, and propose optimizations for current manufacturing processes. Participate in quality‑related projects, helping to identify root causes and reduce defects. Continuous Improvement Contribute to Lean and continuous improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, and implementation of solutions. Assist with ergonomic studies, capacity analysis, simulations, and cost assessments. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement improvements. Support the development of documentation such as work instructions, process standards, and visual management tools. What qualifications will make you successful? Currently enrolled in a 4-year university program (preferred majors: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field) Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills Comfortable working with digital tools and software (Microsoft Office, Excel, ERP systems, Power BI/Tableau, CAD is a plus) Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to organize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment Interest in manufacturing systems, and continuous improvement methodologies Curiosity, willingness to learn, and drive to develop innovative solutions We know skills and competencies show up in many ways and can be based on your life experience. Requirements
