The Impact You’ll Make in this Role: In this role, you will utilize your recognized expertise in industrial engineering and project management while also maintaining expertise in a functional area sufficient to carry out leadership duties. You will need to assume responsibility, with minimal supervision, for projects which are typically medium-to-large scale with moderate risk and impact to the Division/Business/Staff unit. Your recognized expertise in industrial engineering within multiple Divisions and/or within the company will allow you to serve as mentor to existing and potential future team leaders within the business unit, Business/Staff management, and stakeholders. In this role you will need to maintain expertise in the functional area sufficient to carry out leadership duties and to effectively leverage a network of company and industry resources. You will report to Director of Distribution Improvement & Global Standards in 3M Global Logistics. As Industrial Engineering Program Manager, USAC (US and Canada) Distribution Centers, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Lead Industrial Engineering Initiatives Oversee the implementation and management of Red Prairie Labor Management, DC Automation design, and Simulation programs to enhance operational efficiency and innovation. Utilize a Broad Range of Engineering Methodologies Apply various methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other industry best practices to streamline processes and drive quality improvements. Conduct Process Analysis and Optimization Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimized workflows to improve performance. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams Work closely with operations, logistics, IT, and quality teams to ensure successful implementation of engineering initiatives. Develop and Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Establish and track KPIs to measure project success, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Facilitate Training and Development Programs Conduct training sessions to educate staff on engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices. Manage Project Timelines and Deliverables Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure initiatives are completed on time and within scope. Drive Technology and Automation Integration Identify and implement opportunities for technology and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes. Support New Distribution Center Openings Plan and execute new distribution center openings, ensuring optimized processes and technologies are in place. Optimize Transportation and Logistics Operations Work on transportation optimization projects to improve logistics efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
