About The Position

Keep a modern packaging plant running strong in Temple, Texas Picture your day from 7:45am to 4:15pm, Monday–Friday. You’ll walk the floor of our Temple facility, opening up building systems, checking utilities, and getting equipment ready so production teams can move. When a line calls, you’ll respond—diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or basic electrical issues and getting assets back online quickly and safely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or a certification in industrial mechanics from an accredited institution.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to read and apply technical documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance tools and equipment; welding is a plus.
  • PIT and man/scissor lift certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Comfort in a factory setting with noise, heat, and moving machinery.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Sharp troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry repairs.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and on a team.
  • Clear communication and strong time management.
  • Growth mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Survey buildings, equipment, and critical systems to spot issues early and complete repairs.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on schedule and jump on emergency fixes when needed.
  • Tackle routine tasks—replace bulbs, clear drains, fix leaks—to keep the facility safe and efficient.
  • Partner with outside contractors for specialized projects beyond routine scope.
  • Start up and shut down generators, air compressors, cooling towers, and chillers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults.
  • Operate shop equipment including lathes, mills, welders, drill presses, and hand tools.
  • Use computer-based systems to locate spare parts and generate maintenance reports.
  • Maintain your personal toolkit; use and store tools properly.
  • Document work accurately and submit time reports on schedule.
  • Assist electricians and cross-functional teammates as needed.
  • Coach less experienced techs when assigned.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Keep work areas organized to 5S and safety standards.
  • Take part in continuous improvement and team problem-solving.
  • Handle other related duties as assigned.
