About The Position

The Facility Technician III is a senior level position that performs general, advanced and professional-grade maintenance in the areas of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance on the industrial sites. This position will coordinate repairs with other Facility Technicians and vendors and assist with training new technicians.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Three years electrical or mechanical maintenance experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
  • With one of the following, the demonstrated familiarity with or ability to: The operational characteristics, repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems The operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and replacement and repair
  • Ability to operate a lift and forklift
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Valid Class C driver’s license
  • Safe driving for the last three years

Nice To Haves

  • Four years hands on and/or two years of trades training or more.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper repair techniques in electrical controls
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical maintenance and in depth knowledge of component identification.

Responsibilities

  • Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to include High Visibility clothing.
  • Troubleshoot, install and repair motors and controls such as vfd’s, push buttons, starters and relays, electrical control components such as directional valves, limit, proximity and pressure switches.
  • Troubleshoot, install and repair mechanical systems such as head and tail pulleys, pillow block bearings, conveyor belts and gear boxes.
  • Operate various maintenance equipment, including but not limited to: hand, electrical or air tools and pressure washers.
  • Immediately report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures, including using the lock-out/tag-out system before performing maintenance work.
  • Diagnose problems and implement solutions.
  • Direct the work of other Facility Technicians as assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • Assist with stocking, unloading and delivering supplies.
  • Document repair operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and tools essential to accomplishing daily tasks.
  • Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
