About The Position

Quad, a global leader in the commercial printing and direct marketing industry is seeking a Commingle Mechanic to work in our rapidly expanding East Coast Digital Print and Commingling Supercenter in Westampton, NJ. Pay range is $24.80 - $37.20 These positions are responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance work in a fast-paced environment-- including repair, inspection, modification, and improvement of Letter Sorter equipment. The Commingle Mechanic plays an essential role in helping the plant provide high quality product and efficient service to our customers by minimizing operational downtime. Full-time positions are available on the following shifts: D shift – Sunday – Thursday and every other Friday 11 PM – 7 AM. Requirements

  • Prior mechanical experience and/or training
  • Ability to move about to inspect/repair machines including climbing, bending, and squatting in tight areas are also required
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Problem solving/Troubleshooting is a plus
  • Prior printing industry experience or manufacturing experience (such as laborer, assembly, or distribution), experience in Direct Mail preferred

Responsibilities

  • Train and assist operators in set up and troubleshooting operator problems
  • Train Workers in operational techniques and operational adjustments
  • Observe and listen to operating machines and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repair
  • Study sketches, machine specifications or parts to determine type and dimensions of parts needed
  • Maintain inventory of parts and request part orders when limits are reached
  • Dismantle machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective parts
  • Replace defective part with new part or repair part needed
  • Assemble and test machine to verify correction of malfunction
  • Maintain machine by following PM schedule
  • Communicate any foreseeable production problems (material or mechanical in nature)
  • Comply with all quality, safety rules, and regulations as well as Standard Operating Procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required
