About The Position
The Learning Experience – Tuckahoe is seeking a nurturing and experienced Infant Lead Teacher to lead one of our infant classrooms. This role is ideal for an educator who excels in responsive caregiving, consistent routines, and supporting infants through their earliest developmental milestones. Our infant program emphasizes safety, connection, and developmentally appropriate learning in a calm, structured environment.
Requirements
- Applicants must meet ONE of the following: BA or AA in Early Childhood Education, CDA credential, Actively working toward an ECE degree or CDA
- Minimum 6 months infant classroom experience (1 year preferred)
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- CPR and First Aid preferred
- Must meet NYC DOHMH licensing requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead an infant classroom in a safe, warm, and developmentally appropriate setting
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities supporting sensory, motor, and early language development
- Support individualized routines including feeding, diapering, rest, and sensory play
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers to ensure consistency and quality care
- Observe and document developmental milestones
- Build trusting relationships with families through daily communication
