About The Position

ElevateBio is looking for a curious, self-motivated student who wants more exposure to the cybersecurity field while working with a small, experienced information security team. You will report to the Senior Director of Information Security Policy, Risk, and Compliance. This role is located in Durham, NC, and could also be done in Waltham, MA. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and work with the team on security engineering projects that include vulnerability management and remediation, SaaS security posture, and firewall rule assessment and remediation.

Requirements

• Must be a college student with a major, minor, or interest in cybersecurity/ information security, computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• Well-organized with demonstrated experience breaking down projects into smaller tasks and executing them.
• A self-starter who seeks out problems and offers solutions.
• A problem solver who is not afraid to be wrong sometimes.
• Good communications skills with an interest in improving them.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with the process of prioritizing vulnerabilities and/or basic knowledge of computer networking and is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in prioritizing and managing remediation of vulnerabilities, potentially including improving and expanding the integrations between monitoring, reporting, and ticketing systems.
• Assist in prioritizing and managing improvement of SaaS configurations to bring them in line with recommended practices.
• Use a new tool to assess firewall rules and recommend and manage remediations based on findings.
