To strengthen our team in Ann Arbor , we are looking for you as a(n) Information Technology Director . The Director – Information Technology leads the streamlined operation of the five U.S. IT functions: Applications, Infrastructure, Client Services, Data Analytics / AI, and IT Governance & Cybersecurity. The role ensures these areas align with regional and corporate business objectives and collaborates with Corporate IT to develop and manage the IT product and service portfolios delivered across the USA. A key responsibility is achieving agreed IT service levels for all services provided. As the Head of IT for WACKER USA within the global WACKER IT organization, the Director ensures corporate IT strategy is communicated, implemented, and reflected in all regional activities. The Director plans, coordinates, and directs all operational aspects of regional IT, providing leadership for solutions that support mission‑critical business operations. Close collaboration with business leaders is essential to identify, recommend, and deliver cost‑effective technology solutions aligned with corporate standards. Operating in a matrix environment, the Director must maintain clear and effective communication between regional teams and Corporate IT. Building consensus is essential for the success of both corporate and regional IT strategies, policies, and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in a related position; 5+ years of management or leadership experience required
  • ITIL, Foundation Certification
  • Up to 30% travel
  • Strong technical knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems like SAP; networks; protocols; servers; hardware; IT standards; PC operating systems and Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Deep understanding of the organization’s goals and the ability to align IT initiatives accordingly.
  • Demonstrated experience providing and managing data analytics / AI capabilities.
  • Value driven mindset – strong focus on business value; value contribution by IT
  • Proven ability to apply technology to solve business problems; comprehensive knowledge of applicable U.S. IT laws / regulations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with solid grounding in HR management principles, business process management, particularly in manufacturing environments, and IT project management.
  • Highly self‑motivated, disciplined, and detail‑oriented.
  • Strong focus on value contribution
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
