About The Position

Information Technology Summer Internship Overview: The IT Intern will be responsible for supporting the IT Department in a variety of ways for Surge Staffing. They will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in all areas of IT and learn how they all play a big role in a growing organization. This includes but does not limit to working closely with our departments and/or positions in Technical Support, Systems Administrator, Asset Manager, and Deployment Coordinator. This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is for Surge Staffing HQ located in Columbus, Ohio. Requirements

  • At least a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Methodical approach to problem solving using appropriate tools
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, outlook, Exchange Administration and/or related software

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the mentors in each IT-related role and give support in their specific duties
  • Provide first line support for any information technology issues and problems
  • Provide assistance by phone, email and/or using a ticket management system
  • Track issues to resolution
  • Support computers, laptops, tablets, smart phones and applications
  • Escalate problems as required to Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams
  • Follow up on tickets at pre-defined intervals until resolved
  • Act as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams.
  • Auditing File system Permissions
  • Audit Raspberry Pi's across company and report status, age, etc.
  • Active Directory and Exchange email account management
  • Network and local printer support and troubleshooting
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations
