The Opportunity Employer: United Services Automobile Association Tasks: Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Starts designing scalable infrastructure, implements system change with some independence, starts to automate service delivery and maintenance tasks, and builds monitoring and tooling at the component scope. Resolves simple production issues with some assistance through troubleshooting systems independently. Analyzes outages in order to identify opportunities. Experiments with new patterns and technologies with some guidance. Understands engineering best practices, concepts, and patterns. Understands the key drivers for the customer and occasionally identifies solutions and ideas for the customer. Helps team evaluate potential solutions. May telecommute.

Requirements

  • Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Position requires: Requirements gathering and framework design
  • Developing terraform scripts for process automation
  • Handling incidents and backlogs through ServiceNow
  • Experience working on Virtual Machines (VMs), appliances and physical server (bare metal) migration from one physical data center to another
  • Resizing VM's and making changes to existing architecture
  • Experience with VMaaS for automation failures with Terraform configuration changes
  • Troubleshooting resource utilization (CPU, RAM, and Network bandwidth)
  • GitLab Cloud Watch, Datadog, and Splunk
