About The Position

We’re seeking an Infrastructure Migration Lead to direct and deliver the technical workstreams of the Malaysia Cyber Enhancement Program (MUM CEP). This role centres on the migration of four Malaysian Active Directory environments into Monash’s centrally managed AD and the coordinated decommissioning of legacy infrastructure and services. This is a technical leadership role, not a project or product management position. You’ll partner with an established project manager, while owning the engineering direction, delivery, and implementation strategy. The role is based in Clayton, Victoria, but occasional travel to Malaysia will be required. At Monash , work feels different. Requirements

  • A proactive problem‑solver who takes ownership, negotiates effectively across teams, and drives issues to resolution without needing close supervision
  • Strong experience in Active Directory, Windows Server, and enterprise infrastructure services.
  • A proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate engineering delivery.
  • Experience planning and executing complex infrastructure migrations in large environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical migration effort: Define and drive the end‑to‑end migration strategy for AD consolidation, domain restructuring, service integration, and environment uplift.
  • Oversee the safe, orderly decommissioning of legacy AD domains and associated infrastructure.
  • Make informed engineering decisions that ensure reliability, performance, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Manage a cross‑functional team of infrastructure engineers contributing to AD, Windows Server, SOE, endpoint, and supporting platforms.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, establish technical standards, and promote best-practice implementation.
  • Work closely with Malaysia IT, Australian Infrastructure Services, and domain specialists to achieve a coherent and secure infrastructure environment.
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point across AD, server infrastructure, authentication services, and related integrations.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation, operational readiness plans, and transition‑to‑support processes.
  • Promote continuous improvement, process refinement, and opportunities for automation.
