  • Experience leading broad, multi‑year transformation programs across infrastructure domains

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the overall architecture for our enterprise infrastructure products, ensuring all technology domains work seamlessly together
  • Lead our platform engineering vision by helping teams build modern, intuitive internal platforms that engineers rely on every day
  • Set clear objectives and service expectations (OKRs, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs) that communicate the health and impact of our infrastructure services
  • Champion a Zero Trust approach, modern security standards, and automated compliance practices that keep our environment protected by default
  • Guide teams in adopting automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code to make provisioning, configuration, and change management more reliable and scalable
  • Treat internal platforms as a product, building user-friendly, API-driven workflows that directly reduce friction for Software Developers and Data Engineers
  • Champion GitOps principles, enabling stakeholders to leverage infrastructure using the same pull-request workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Apply broad domain awareness—across network, compute, storage, observability, and DevOps—to ensure cohesive and thoughtful design decisions
  • Empower development teams by providing self-service identity and access controls, ensuring security is a seamless, frictionless part of their everyday workflows
  • Expand the use of automation for compliance reporting and operational checks to improve reliability and reduce manual work
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and cross‑team leadership, stepping in hands‑on when needed to help teams deliver critical outcomes
  • Help shape the long‑term architecture that supports our hybrid environment and influences how teams build and deliver reliable services
  • Design solutions that span multiple infrastructure domains, ensuring each is integrated and built for scale
  • Help evolve our internal platforms into consistent, product‑like experiences that incorporate continuous feedback from users
  • Guide the organization toward modern access models, segmentation strategies, and identity‑driven security
  • Shape cloud and hybrid architectures that support future growth—whether through DNS/IPAM modernization, SD‑WAN adoption, or IPv6 readiness
  • Design for resilience through active‑active patterns, tiered architectures, and disaster recovery principles baked into the platform
  • Expand the use of Infrastructure‑as‑Code frameworks to ensure deployments are consistent, auditable, and repeatable
  • Promote GitOps principles, ensuring infrastructure is versioned and automatically reconciled
  • Help teams embed security and compliance checks directly into CI/CD pipelines
  • Encourage event‑driven automation and self‑healing capabilities to reduce operational noise and improve reliability
  • Support the transition from ticket‑based provisioning to API‑driven, self‑service experiences
  • Shape the direction of our container orchestration and Kubernetes environments
  • Promote hardened operating system builds to ensure consistency and security across Windows and Linux platforms
  • Guide modernization in hybrid compute environments such as VMware Cloud Foundation and other automation‑focused integrations
  • Support efforts to improve capacity planning, workload performance, and the ability to rapidly clone environments for testing or experimentation
  • Support the evolution to software‑defined networking and identity‑driven network policies
  • Promote improved DNS/IPAM practices and modernization with tools that bring more structure and reliability to the environment
  • Encourage the expansion of network automation using proven tools and intent‑verification workflows
  • Advocate for scalable segmentation and Zero Trust models that strengthen security posture while enabling business flexibility
  • Promote modern storage design that incorporates scalable object storage and cost‑conscious tiering
  • Champion native security capabilities such as encryption, replication, and ransomware resilience
  • Improve storage observability and cost transparency so teams understand performance trends and the cost‑to‑serve
  • Strengthen our centralized logging and monitoring strategy across the enterprise
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to design highly observable systems, building real-time telemetry and dashboards that track both application performance and data ingestion at scale
  • Encourage automation that ties monitoring events to actionable remediation paths
  • Shape templates and practices for our CI/CD pipelines and shared deployment frameworks
  • Promote consistent, well‑documented tooling that is easy for teams to adopt and integrate into their workflows
  • Embed security scanning and compliance into the development and deployment lifecycle
  • Advance identity and access governance practices, including modern MFA experiences
  • Champion policy‑as‑code adoption for automated enforcement of security baselines
  • Help align infrastructure operations with CIS, NIST, PCI, and other frameworks
  • Champion a culture of stakeholder and developer empathy; collaborate across engineering groups to deeply understand their pain points and build platforms that accelerates flow state
