About The Position

The Infusion Center Manager is responsible for direct day to day oversight of the CHP Infusion Center, to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care for CHP members who require medical infusion therapy. The Infusion Center is licensed under the Manager's medical license. In addition, the Infusion Center Manager will maintain a primary care practice within the PGCHP and participate in related committees including Pharmacy Services and Pharmacy & Therapeutics. Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily infusions while coordinating with infusion center nursing staff for infusion medication related issues such as dosing adjustments, pre-infusion medications, monitoring requirements, and acute infusion reactions.
  • Coordinating with infusion center nursing staff and supervisor regarding infusion center scheduling, supplies, and budget.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of the medications being infused including potential infusion reactions and treatment of reactions including the rare but potential risk of anaphylactic reactions.
  • Oversee addition of new medications to the infusion center formulary, including reviewing and approving infusion procedures and protocols for each medication, as well as coordinating with pharmacy department, nursing supervisors, and corporate leadership about researching and implementing potential new cost saving medications for the infusion center.
  • Promote awareness and preferential use of the CHP Infusion Center when appropriate through communication with the physician group and affiliates, including specialists. This includes medications available for infusion, procedures for ordering medications, and with additional services offered by the infusion center such as IV fluids.
  • Maintain a primary care practice within the PGCHP consisting of 8 clinic sessions and 2 admin half days weekly, with goal of 22,800 risk-adjusted member months and 3,820 visits annually.
