About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder II to join our remote team supporting a high‑acuity, Level I Trauma academic environment. In this role, you’ll accurately assign ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS, and MS‑DRG codes across a wide range of complex inpatient cases, collaborate with CDI specialists, and submit electronic queries when clarification is needed. 💼 What You’ll Do Accurately assign ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS, and MS‑DRG codes across diverse specialties (Neurology, Oncology, Ortho, Cardiology, Critical Care, OB/Newborn, Trauma, and more). Partner with CDI specialists to ensure complete and accurate documentation. Submit electronic queries to providers when clarification is needed. Maintain 95% accuracy, meet productivity expectations, and correctly assign POA indicators. Code a variety of specialized account types, including mortality and rehab cases. Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an inpatient coder at an academic facility.
  • Coding Certificate Program Completion or Associate Degree in HIM or equivalent.
  • Certified RHIA/RHIT or CCS.
