About The Position

RT Specialty is seeking a motivated and experienced Inside Broker – Commercial Casualty (Construction) to join our high-performing wholesale brokerage team in Dallas, Texas. This role is ideal for an Inside Broker, Associate Broker, Wholesale Broker, or Commercial Casualty Underwriter with 5+ years of experience in construction casualty lines who is ready to step into a more independent inside production role. You will be empowered to help manage and grow with an Office President/Team Leader, taking the lead on their new and renewal book of business, and leverage RT Specialty’s market access and resources to deliver exceptional results. What will your job entail? The Inside Broker will independently manage and broker construction-focused commercial casualty accounts from submission through placement and servicing. This role supports an Office President / Team Leader and plays a critical part in managing and growing a book of construction casualty business within a wholesale brokerage platform.

Requirements

  • Active Texas Property & Casualty License required.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial wholesale or retail brokerage
  • Experience in the construction or environmental verticals
  • Proven ability to broker accounts with minimal oversight and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial casualty coverages, carrier appetites, and market dynamics.
  • Experience with surplus lines and non-admitted markets.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Production-driven, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • The ideal candidate has strong experience structuring and placing: Commercial General Liability (GL) for contractors Excess Liability Umbrella Liability Products & Completed Operations Project-Specific Liability Programs Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP) Wrap-Up Programs

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Sales, Risk Management).
  • Texas Surplus Lines License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently broker and manage new and renewal construction casualty accounts.
  • Review and evaluate retail broker submissions for contractor risks, trade contractor risks, and general contractor operations.
  • Analyze construction exposures including subcontractor risk, contractual liability, completed operations, and jobsite exposures.
  • Structure competitive casualty programs for middle-market and complex construction accounts.
  • Identify carrier appetite across admitted and surplus lines markets specializing in construction risk.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions directly with carrier underwriters.
  • Present structured quote comparisons and coverage recommendations to retail brokers to facilitate binding.
  • Act as primary liaison between retail brokers and casualty insurance markets for construction placements.
  • Drive revenue growth through expansion of construction casualty production.
  • Maintain complete documentation and ensure compliance with wholesale brokerage standards and surplus lines requirements.
  • Operate independently in a production-driven environment with minimal oversight.
