Role Summary This entry-level position supports both inside sales and branch operations with a focus on geosynthetic products such as geotextiles, geomembranes, erosion control materials, and related construction supplies. The role helps customers with product questions, quotes, and orders, while also assisting in the warehouse—including forklift operation to load/unload trucks when necessary. This position is ideal for someone who wants to learn the geosynthetics business from the ground up.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Willingness to learn CRM/ERP systems and geosynthetic product knowledge.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift
  • Comfortable working in both an office and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift materials as needed up to 50 lbs (typical rolls/pallet handling done via forklift).
  • 0–2 years in customer service, inside sales, construction supply, warehouse, or retail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with geosynthetics, construction materials, or distribution is a plus but not required.
  • Forklift experience helpful but training/certification will be provided.
  • Eagerness to learn geosynthetics and construction-related products.
  • Strong communication and customer service mindset.
  • Organization and attention to detail (important for large orders and jobsite deliveries).
  • Team player with a willingness to jump in where needed.
  • Ability to work safely in warehouse and yard environments.

Responsibilities

  • Answer customer calls, emails, and counter inquiries regarding geosynthetic products and availability.
  • Provide basic product information (weights, strengths, applications, installation considerations) with training provided.
  • Prepare quotes, enter orders, and follow up to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Learn and support project requirements such as DOT specifications, civil/construction plans, and jobsite delivery needs.
  • Communicate lead times, delivery schedules, and material alternatives when items are unavailable.
  • Maintain professional, friendly communication to support long-term customer relationships.
  • Assist with order processing, pick ticket generation, and inventory checks for geosynthetic rolls, pallets, and accessories.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse on staging orders and inbound deliveries.
  • Operate a forklift (training and certification provided, if needed) to:
  • Load customer trucks
  • Unload inbound shipments
  • Move, stack, and organize geosynthetic materials (rolls, pallets, mats)
  • Help with receiving, stocking, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy.
  • Support handling of returns, damaged goods, and restocking.
  • Maintain clean, safe warehouse and yard areas following company safety procedures.
