About The Position

Conklin Metal Industries is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Inside Sales Associate to join our growing Charlotte branch team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, and driving sales results in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with Territory Managers and customers to deliver exceptional service while identifying opportunities to grow business and strengthen relationships. Founded in 1874, Conklin Metal Industries is a fourth-generation, family-owned distributor of sheet metal, HVAC, and duct fabrication supplies. As an Inside Sales Associate, you will be a key contributor to the branch’s success by supporting customers and driving daily sales activity. This position is primarily based in a business-casual office environment, with regular interaction in the warehouse and with customers. Requirements

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A sales mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and grow accounts
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in order entry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Prophet 21 preferred)
  • Willingness to jump in and support the team wherever needed

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Territory Managers with quotes, order entry, and product sourcing
  • Handling inbound customer sales via phone, email, and walk-in customers
  • Building strong relationships by delivering fast, knowledgeable customer service
  • Making outbound calls to existing customers to support sales and delivery schedules
  • Identifying opportunities to grow customer accounts and increase sales
  • Serving as a product resource and trusted advisor to customers
  • Coordinating communication between customers, sales, and the branch team
  • Assisting with new customer setup and onboarding
  • Monitoring customer buying patterns and identifying sales opportunities
  • Partnering with inventory and purchasing teams to ensure product availability
  • Supporting new product setup and item maintenance
  • Working cross-functionally with credit and internal teams to support customers
