About The Position

The Inside Sales – Direct Sales role is a high-energy “hunter” position focused on acquiring new business while growing and maintaining relationships with a broad portfolio of small- to mid-sized national customers. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue growth, expanding customer portfolios, and strengthening long-term partnerships. This is a remote position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

  • Experience working with CRM systems.
  • Background in the ingredient industry.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire new business through inbound lead follow-up and proactive outbound outreach, including cold calls and emails.
  • Build, manage, and expand customer relationships to achieve company sales and growth objectives.
  • Partner with new and existing customers to deliver value and innovation using Döhler Ingredients and Ingredient Systems.
  • Utilize company CRM tools to ensure transparency, accuracy, and internal alignment on customer activity and projects.
  • Execute annual sales planning activities, including customer forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Develop and implement sales initiatives that support broader business unit strategies.
  • Provide exceptional customer support by establishing strong professional relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Proactively assess, coordinate, and validate customer needs to enhance loyalty and maximize customer value.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional internal teams to ensure alignment with both company and customer goals.
  • Drive operational sales targets—including portfolio growth, new business acquisition, competitive share gains, and expansion into new business areas—while aligning with long-term corporate strategy.
  • Create, execute, and regularly update account development plans for assigned customers.
  • Achieve sales, volume, and profitability targets, and recommend corrective actions in partnership with sales leadership when needed.
  • Manage all customer opportunities, ensuring cross-functional teams remain aligned and deliver required information and solutions on time.
  • Ensure customer requests are handled efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner across the organization.
