Unlike many solar companies, we take a consultative, low-pressure approach to helping homeowners make the right decision. As our referral and reputation-driven business continues to grow, we are expanding our team to better capture opportunities from the EnergySage solar marketplace, a high-volume online platform where homeowners compare solar proposals. We are seeking an experienced inside salesperson to manage and respond to leads posted on the EnergySage solar marketplace. This role focuses on speed, consistency, and intelligent quoting, ensuring every EnergySage lead receives a thoughtful proposal from Exact Solar using our design software (OpenSolar) and best-practice messaging. The goal is to: Quote every viable EnergySage lead quickly Position Exact Solar as a trusted, premium local installer Identify high-intent customers Transition interested prospects to our senior technical sales consultants to close the sale This role is ideal for someone who enjoys high-volume lead engagement, marketplace sales strategy, and solar proposal development, while working closely with an experienced closing team.

Requirements

  • Has experience in solar sales, inside sales, or solar proposal development
  • Understands residential solar system basics (system sizing, kWh production, pricing, incentives)
  • Is comfortable using solar software tools such as OpenSolar, Aurora, or similar platforms
  • Can manage high-volume lead engagement with speed and consistency
  • Writes clearly and professionally when communicating with homeowners online
  • Understands that EnergySage is a competitive marketplace and can position value effectively
  • Is organized and able to track multiple opportunities simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Monitor EnergySage marketplace for newly posted homeowner projects
  • Quickly assess project viability and eligibility
  • Ensure timely quoting on all viable leads
  • Generate solar proposals using OpenSolar design software
  • Follow Exact Solar proposal templates, pricing structure, and messaging standards
  • Ensure proposals are competitive while maintaining our premium quality positioning
  • Respond to homeowner questions within the EnergySage platform
  • Use clear, professional, educational messaging aligned with Exact Solar’s brand
  • Provide guidance that helps homeowners understand system sizing, pricing, and quality differences
  • Identify homeowners who demonstrate genuine interest in moving forward
  • Gather additional information when necessary (roof condition, electrical service, etc.)
  • Encourage interested customers to schedule consultations
  • Schedule consultations with Exact Solar’s senior sales consultants
  • Provide a concise summary of the homeowner’s goals and questions
  • Ensure smooth handoff and customer experience
  • Track win rates and marketplace competitiveness
  • Provide feedback on proposal pricing and positioning
  • Assist with ongoing improvements to EnergySage quoting strategy
