About The Position

The Opportunity We're looking to add a trusted contractor to our bench for ongoing project-based work for an experienced Insights professional who lives in the space between data and decisions. On a project basis, you’ll help &Marketing’s clients stop guessing what’s working (or what competitors are doing) and help them start acting on evidence, connecting performance signals, competitive activity, and voice-of-customer inputs into clear, usable direction. This is an analytics-and-insights engagement with a consulting backbone. You’ll partner closely with senior strategists and client stakeholders to deliver repeatable insights programs and segmentation/market intelligence work. Your output won’t be “here are charts.” It’ll be: here’s what changed, why it matters, what we should do next, and what to prioritize first. At &Marketing, collaboration is critical to our culture. We move fast, stay sharp, and don’t worship busywork. This engagement is ideal for an independent consultant or freelancer who is equal parts analytical and narrative-driven—someone who can spot patterns, pressure-test assumptions, and translate complexity into confident next steps. Work is scoped and engaged on a project-by-project contractor basis, with the opportunity to become a trusted, recurring partner as your work and our client needs align. Qualifications: 5–10+ years in insights, analytics, market/competitive intelligence, research, strategy, or similar (agency, in-house, or consulting). Strong experience turning messy inputs into clean recommendations (performance data, SEO/visibility, web analytics, research, VOC, competitive messaging, etc.). Comfortable pulling data, analyzing, synthesizing, presenting, and recommending next steps. Confident communicator—able to explain what matters to non-analysts without oversimplifying or hiding behind jargon. AI-forward and pragmatic: actively uses AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, and drafting—while applying sound judgment, validation, and human insight to ensure quality and accuracy. Experience with common tools is a plus (not all required): GA4, Search Console, SEMrush/Ahrefs, Similarweb, CRM reporting (HubSpot/Salesforce), survey tools, interview-based research, Excel/Sheets. Consulting/agency, venture capital, or private equity environment experience is a plus. Bonus: experience with global / multi-market analysis and localization considerations. Professional Attributes: Self-starter who can work independently with a remote team and keep projects moving. “Roll up your sleeves” attitude—curious, skeptical (in a good way), and allergic to lazy conclusions. Strong storytelling with data: you don’t just report— you interpret. High standards, low ego: consistent track record of being a good teammate. Low tolerance for bureaucracy; bias for speed without sacrificing accuracy. You can hold a room (or a Zoom) and guide stakeholders to decisions. EST Time Zone preferred Typical Project Scope: Lead insights workstreams for a select group of &Marketing clients, with accountability for on-time, high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction. Run competitive and performance benchmarking programs (often quarterly), including: (1) market/category landscape, competitor activity and messaging , (2) visibility/search and content footprint signals , (3) what’s changing, who’s gaining, and where white space exists Design and execute VOC/messaging validation efforts (conduct customer interviews, data synthesis, insight summaries, what-to-say/how-to-say-it guidance). Build clear, prioritized recommendations tied to business goals. Create and/or guide client-ready deliverables: one-pagers, executive summaries, roadmaps, and action plans. Partner with content and strategy teammates to operationalize insights into content, campaigns, and site experience improvements. About &Marketing &Marketing helps CEOs and leadership teams make confident marketing decisions when the stakes are high. We believe the future belongs to marketing leaders who thrive in moments of massive change. Our mission is to FUEL those leaders by equipping them to turn uncertainty into competitive advantage and become trusted strategic partners in times of transformation. Core Values As important as any qualification, we look for people who embody our core values: INTEGRITY At &Marketing, we operate on a bedrock of professional integrity and transparency. This means we demonstrate honesty and ethics in all interactions, without exception. TRANSPARENCY We are transparent with information, recommendations, and decisions, even when it’s difficult or uncomfortable with our teams, community, and clients. HELPFUL We operate with a 'help first' mentality; providing genuine assistance to everyone around us even if it is not explicitly 'our job.' This applies to everyone we interact with — our internal team, prospects, clients, and partners. This means sometimes we put our short-term self-interest behind others because we believe trust and strong relationships foster an abundance mindset. INVESTED We are committed to winning and getting the job done right — for ourselves, each other, and most importantly, our clients. We often behave 'as if it was our money' to express genuine care for how we represent ourselves. This means we commit to outstanding work that is not always neatly packaged into a 40-hour work week. INNOVATIVE Our industry is changing rapidly, and we must stay ahead or risk being left behind. By encouraging curiosity and experimentation, we foster an environment where bold ideas and inventive solutions can thrive without fear of failure. We often say that 'if we are not failing at all, we're not trying hard enough.
