About The Position

Processing Inspector is primarily responsible for the processing, shot-peen, paint, and identification inspection of aerospace components through Fluorescent Penetrant, visual inspection and Etch processes to ensure compliance with engineering and work instruction requirements. This position utilizes the inspector’s skill and knowledge to discover deviations in aerospace parts. Lead and assist Level I Processing Inspectors in the performance of their duties and development to obtain Level II qualifications.

  • 2 plus years of experience in penetrant inspection

  • Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: NDT

Responsibilities

  • Determine and utilize appropriate inspection methods and instruments to complete in-process and final inspection of special processes on parts.
  • Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and perform NDT inspections and all other processing inspections in accordance with the applicable customer/industry specifications and internal procedures.
  • Initiate nonconformance records against parts not meeting requirements.
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  • Work with applicable processing personnel to determine necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results.
  • Improve inspection effectiveness and efficiency by identifying and supporting implementation of process improvements.
  • Perform all necessary testing requirements to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Perform any other incidental duties as may be required.
