The Inspector performs initial and final inspections on machines brought in for repair in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.” Pay Rate: $31.00 - $44.00 per hour Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Welder/technician with 5+ years’ experience in heavy equipment repair industry
  • Intermediate proficiency with technician administrative functions
  • Intermediate proficiency customer service skills
  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Squatting/Kneeling
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Medium work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 32 pounds or more
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Wagner Equipment Co.’s various departments’ operating practices preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of DBS and CRM/Sales Link
  • Advanced knowledge of ET/SIS/SIS Web/Service Link

Responsibilities

  • Writes up inspection report
  • Quotes repair of equipment and reviews report with Service Writer
  • When necessary, consults with Shop Manager on the writing of the inspection report
  • Goes over machine inspection with customer to get customer’s OK for repairs
  • Performs an operational and visual inspection on machines before and after repair work is completed
  • Performs necessary tasks to repair or make adjustments on machine
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
  • In some instances, performs Lead duties in Lead’s absence, or as workload requires
