JOB DESCRIPTION Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Sprinkler • Perform duties in a cost-effective manner while inspecting structures that contain fire sprinkler systems. • Accurately complete all inspection-related documentation. • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards, common materials, and installation processes. • Maintain RME-I license and obtain and maintain TCEQ backflow licensing (B-PAT). • Properly perform required sprinkler system inspections and inspect all associated components, including but not limited to wet, dry, fire pumps, pre-action, deluge, antifreeze loops, backflows, etc. • Cross-train in additional licensing duties to obtain multiple licenses. Alarm • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards. • Accurately complete all inspection-related documentation. • Perform duties in a cost-effective manner while inspecting structures that contain fire alarm systems. • Properly perform required alarm system inspections and inspect all associated components. • Cross-train in additional licensing duties to obtain multiple licenses. Extinguisher / Hood / Special Hazard • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards, manufacturer installation manuals, and requirements. • Accurately complete all inspection-related documentation. • Perform duties in a cost-effective manner while inspecting structures that contain fire extinguishers, hood suppression systems, and/or special hazard systems (based on license held). • Properly perform required extinguisher and suppression system inspections and inspect all associated components. • Cross-train in additional licensing duties to obtain multiple licenses. Super Tech • Hold all fire licenses, including RME-I, FAL, FEL-A, and B-PAT (Backflow Preventer). • Lead large inspections and special projects, working with multiple technicians or independently. • Perform duties in a cost-effective manner while inspecting structures with multiple fire protection system components. • Assist and/or fill in for the inspection manager as required. • Mentor lower-level technicians in their pursuit of additional licenses and technical knowledge. Promote and support Stop Work Authority. • Complete all training requirements — safety, certifications, etc. • Submit accurate timesheets — including job numbers/names, overtime, travel time, and ensure submission on time; support transition to electronic timesheet submission. • Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate, and professional, with all required signatures. • Maintain proper inventory management — review, update, and approve packing slips; submit in a timely manner; manage materials properly. • Ensure proper maintenance and care of equipment — trucks, lifts, tools, etc. • Keep jobsites clean, organized, and professional. • Monitor production efficiency — remain aware of budget vs. actual labor hours and communicate proactively with superintendent. • Support and ensure adherence to company SOPs — purchase orders, change orders, etc. • Be punctual, maintain excellent attendance, and communicate proactively with supervisors. • Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to customer survey feedback with improvement action. • Maintain quality control to reduce return trips and warranty work. • Maintain a professional appearance at all times. • Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customers. • Demonstrate teamwork and maintain positive interactions with your team and local office. • Actively participate in required team meetings. • Ability to work overtime, out of town, or on-call as needed. Knowledge • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent. • Hold the required NICET level for the trade and applicable/current Texas Department of Insurance license. • Strong understanding of materials, tools, equipment, and procedures used in the installation process, plus working knowledge of NFPA standards. • Current and valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record and acceptable criminal background. Work Experience • Sprinkler: Minimum of 5 years of experience (installation/service experience is a plus). • Alarm: Minimum of 3 years of experience (installation/service experience is a plus). • Extinguisher: Minimum of 2 years of experience. • Hood Suppression: Minimum of 3 years of experience. • Special Hazard: Minimum of 5 years of experience; must have FAL license and related work experience. Skills and Competencies • Ability to take direction from upper management. • Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork. • Maintain company vehicle and tools in accordance with company policy. • Must have a valid state driver’s license and a good driving record. • Willing and able to perform testing and maintenance. • Able to identify and document inspection deficiencies and required corrective service. • Able to work effectively in a team environment and perform well under pressure while meeting scheduled timeframes. • Capable of working independently and completing duties and projects with moderate supervision. • Strong customer service skills. • Great attention to detail. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Embrace and comply with all core values and the safety handbook.
