About The Position

The Installer & Fabricator is responsible for fabricating and installing interior and exterior components for custom-built ambulances. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, basic fabrication skills, and the ability to install components accurately according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in fabrication, installation, manufacturing, or a skilled trade preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to read basic drawings and follow written instructions
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ambulance, emergency vehicle, RV, automotive, marine, or aerospace manufacturing
  • Basic metal fabrication experience (cutting, drilling, bending)
  • Familiarity with shop equipment such as band saws, drill presses, brakes, or grinders
  • Experience working with aluminum and stainless steel
  • Knowledge of quality inspection and fit-and-finish standards

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate ambulance components using aluminum, steel, and composites
  • Cut, drill, bend, assemble, and finish parts using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Install cabinetry, flooring, wall panels, seating, brackets, hardware, and mounted equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and build specifications
  • Measure, fit, align, and secure components to meet quality and safety requirements
  • Use fasteners, adhesives, sealants, and fabrication hardware correctly
  • Identify and report fitment issues, defects, or missing components
  • Perform rework or modifications as required
  • Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and 5S standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with welders, electricians, assemblers, and quality personnel to meet production schedules
