About The Position

Requirements

Possess a High School Diploma or GED
Clear criminal background check (a clear Livescan for the Diocese of San Diego is a condition of employment)
Experience working with youth
Positive professional references and recommendations

Nice To Haves

Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy

Responsibilities

Supplement and reinforce the work of the classroom teacher
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, grade student work, enter data into the gradebook, make copies, procure needed supplies and prepare instructional materials
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, lead one-on-one or small group learning activities
Assist the classroom teacher in monitoring student behavior and helping maintain discipline in the classroom
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, provide instructional push-in and pull-out intervention support
Supervise students during recess, lunch, emergency drills, activities, outside recreation, field trips, and pick-up and drop-off
Substitute for classroom teachers when needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Return voice-mail/e-mail messages in a timely manner
Communicate regularly with parents
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
Demonstrate a respectful demeanor with staff, students, and parents
Observe utmost confidentiality regarding parent, student, staff information/conversations
Other duties as assigned
