Designer, Core Business Services - Talent Team - Instructional Design (Supervising Associate) (Multiple Positions) (1693359), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Portland, OR. Assist with the design of individual learning items and blended learning programs. Work to agreed design quality standards and processes, using approved templates and tools and collaborate with other designers and learning professionals to support the continuous improvement of design and development efficiency and quality. Develop and maintain strong relationships with content owners, SMRs, business partners, project managers, developers, deployment teams and vendors. Follow EY’s evidence-based learning design processes to define and design individual learning items and programs on time, to budget and quality standards. Plan and document learning solutions and gain approvals from design leaders, business partners and content owners; identify existing materials that can be curated and integrated into the learning journey. Write design specifications using standard templates to ensure alignment of objectives with assessments, practice, presentation, overviews, integration and motivation elements; write specifications for configuring effective collaborative learning instances. Write innovative eLearning pages and storyboards, audio/video scripts, facilitator and participant guides, job aids and other materials; test prototype products with sample audiences. Conduct quality assurance checks with SMRs, technical reviewers, CPE approvers and deployment teams; utilize their feedback to revise design documents. Draft deployment plans and consult with regional deployment teams to revise the learning design as necessary. Collaborate closely with developers to ensure finished materials are authored as specified. Assist in pilots and make appropriate revisions to learning materials based on pilot results. Share instructional design best practices with other members of the design team in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Design, Business, Human Resources, Management Information Systems, Communications, or a related field and 2 years of work related experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Design, Business, Human Resources, Management Information Systems, Communications, or a related field and 1 year of work related experience. Experience may be gained as part of the required education, including co-op and/or internship experience.
  • Must have 1 year of experience designing individual learning items and blended learning programs for a global audience.
  • Must have 1 year of experience designing effective learning experiences including: physical and virtual classroom; online and classroom simulations; and interactive eLearning including video and audio media.
  • Must have 1 year of applications experience with a course authoring programs such as Articulate Storyline or similar.
  • Must have 1 year of experience using learning science and evidence-based learning design standards and practices to define and design individual learning items and programs on time, to budget and quality standards.
  • Must have 1 year of experience developing learning materials and reviewing the work of internal or external developers to ensure adherence to external legal and regulatory requirements including the Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
  • Must have 1 year of experience designing learning content that meets the requirements of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, at the AA level of conformance.
  • Must have 1 year of experience operating across the learning design lifecycle including identifying and defining learning needs; creating high level and detailed design documents; creating instructional materials and exercises; facilitator materials; and audio and video scripts.
  • Must have 1 year of experience implementing and using innovative learning technologies, including generative and agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning design process.
  • Must have 1 year of experience supervising complex, change initiatives in global organizations and mentoring and providing guidance to junior designers on the team.
  • Requires domestic travel up to 7% to serve client needs.
