About The Position

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology invites applications for the position of Instructor of Construction Engineering Technology beginning August 2026. We are seeking a dynamic educator to teach a range of undergraduate courses, including but not limited to: Architecture Drafting, Construction Materials & Methods, Surveying, Construction Regulations, Residential and Commercial Construction Estimation, Construction Planning & Scheduling, and Project Management. Additional responsibilities include advising students, mentoring senior design projects, and participating in service activities at the department, college, and university levels. Requirements

  • M.S. in Civil, Construction, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field, from an accredited institution by the hire date

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in a related field from an accredited institution by the time of hire
  • Three years of Teaching Experience in Construction-related courses
  • Experience with ABET and/or ATMAE accreditation processes and assessment
  • Industrial Experience in the same field
  • Commitment to undergraduate teaching and continuous program improvement
  • Ability to supervise senior design projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and service
