The Instructor Ophthalmologist provides comprehensive clinical care within their specialty in support of the clinical, educational, and research missions of the College of Medicine and the Department of Ophthalmology. This position contributes to excellence in patient care, academic advancement, and institutional service.

Requirements

MD or DO degree
Successful completion of a three-year residency in Ophthalmology or related specialty
Board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology
Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Arkansas medical license

Responsibilities

Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with ophthalmologic conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Perform medical and surgical procedures appropriate to specialty training.
Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Participate in on-call coverage as assigned.
Engage in medical education by teaching medical students, residents, and/or fellows.
Participate in clinical research and scholarly activities as applicable.
Serve on departmental, college, or institutional committees as assigned.
Promote coordination, continuity, and consistency in patient care.
Adhere to all institutional policies and uphold standards of dignity and respect.
Other duties assigned.
