Job Description: Supervisor: Party Chief Job Description: Responsible for assisting the Survey Party Chief in managing the activities of survey throughout various job locations. Fundamental knowledge of survey instruments or activities .

Requirements

  • At least one years' experience as a Survey Helper in heavy highway and bridge projects
  • Previous experience with survey instruments
  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
  • Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not .
  • three or more years related construction experience preferred.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks utilizing survey instruments and equipment per the direction of the Survey Party Chief
  • Maintain and properly care for survey instruments and equipment
  • Dig, spread, and level dirt, sand, and gravel using a hand tools
  • Lift, carry, and manually transport construction materials, tools, and supplies
  • Clean tools, equipment, materials, and the work area
  • Mix and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools
  • Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe
  • Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench, and assembling sections of pipe
  • Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering, and assisting in the fusing of pipe
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Other unlisted duties will be assigned
  • When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
