About The Position

The Intake Coordinator provides support to the Military Family Clinic team as the first contact for services for veterans and military-connected individuals in need of mental health care. They manage all intake calls and appointments, administer appropriate paperwork and psychometric screeners, and schedule with appropriate clinical staff for biopsychosocial assessments. The Intake Coordinator will work with a multi-disciplinary team for case assignments, consultations, and care coordination and will receive cutting-edge training to support their clinical growth.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, social work and/or other mental health field, residency preferred.
  • Experience working with or connection to military/veteran population.
  • Knowledge of mental illness, mental health diagnoses and HIPPA; knowledge of various treatment modalities and methods; knowledge of community resources.
  • Professional written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new functions and assist in establishing efficient processes.
  • Strong consultative abilities, conflict-resolution skills, and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include 1-2 evenings per week.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet background check requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and appropriately direct clients through the intake process while demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Conduct and concurrently document detailed intake information in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Evaluate the client’s need for services, make treatment recommendations, and appropriately match clients to clinicians.
  • Prioritize access to care by scheduling biopsychosocial appointments within a 2-week window of first contact.
  • Inform Lead Clinician of high-risk cases for support and execution of appropriate safety protocols, while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Meet regularly with the Lead Clinician and clinic multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain comprehensive client referral tracking system via review of data reports.
  • Conduct ongoing intake process evaluation for continuous growth and quality improvement efforts.
  • Engage with the data team to foster a positive relationship around data collection, trend analysis, research, and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to identify referral sources who need follow-up regarding appropriate referrals to the clinic.
  • Provide individual (adults and children), couples, family, and group therapy to clients, with a focus on delivering evidence-based practices within a targeted treatment model (optional)
  • Serve as a backup to the front desk as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
