About The Position

Integrated Preschool Teacher (2) Early Learning Center (ELC) Start Date: August 25, 2026 with orientation dates prior The Integrated Program provides an environment in which children in need of special education services are learning with and from their peers in an inclusive setting. The goal of the program is to provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that are individualized to meet the needs of each child. The program provides a language-based developmental preschool experience. Each classroom has a maximum enrollment of 15 students: 8 community peers and 7 students with IEPs.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts Licensure as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) Required
  • MA Certification as a Preschool Teacher (Early Childhood PreK-2 w/wo disabilities)

Responsibilities

  • Addresses the needs of diverse learners in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Develops and administers preschool curriculum consistent with MA DESE frameworks, school district goals and objectives as well as student IEPs.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrates findings with other disciplines, provides recommendations and develops Individual Education Programs (IEPs) based on TEAM recommendations.
  • Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
  • Fulfills all case management responsibilities associated with the IEP.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret student data.
  • Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation and self-care, including toileting.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  • Serves as a resource to develop effective teaching strategies for all students.
  • Responsible for annual reviews, written progress notes, parent/teacher conferences and proctoring state assessments.
  • Utilizes technology as needed, including Remind and Google Classroom.
  • Uses evidence-based research and continuing education to address MA frameworks and to meet licensure requirements.
  • Performs other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor and/or designee.
