About The Position

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs to teach courses in Integrated Biology and Earth Science (SCI 2600) and/or Integrated Physical and Chemical Sciences (SCI 2610). The number of these temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the program. As such, not everyone in the applicant pool for this position will be contacted and/or selected to teach.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and/or any EAS related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching assigned classes either in person or online by delivering course content to students.
  • Preparing course materials and lesson plans.
  • Grading student work and giving timely and helpful feedback.
  • Responding to student questions in line with university, college, or department policies.
  • Providing academic support to students online or in person as needed for the course.
  • Teaching class content based on the syllabus and following any department guidelines.
  • Holding office hours and following university policies on student evaluations.
  • Participating in peer reviews.
