About The Position

INTECON is looking for a highly skilled Intermediate Intelligence Analyst to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Operations Center by delivering timely, relevant intelligence and threat awareness to FPS Executive Leadership and mission stakeholders. This role supports the FPS Open-Source Threat Intelligence Program, produces and briefs daily intelligence products, and conducts system-based research and law enforcement checks to support operational decision-making. The analyst operates independently in a deadline-driven environment, ensuring compliance with DHS/FPS security classification requirements and privacy/civil liberties standards.

Requirements

  • Clearance: Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BA/BS or MA/MS).
  • Experience: 5 years of experience (Intermediate labor category), performing functional duties independently.
  • Law enforcement and intelligence systems (as authorized): LEIMS, TECS, WebRMS, EIS, TAVISS, HSIN, DCII, Accurint, HSDN, JWICS.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for briefing and production support.

  • Intelligence analysis/tradecraft training (e.g., structured analytic techniques, threat assessment methodology).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the FPS Open-Source Threat Intelligence Program by monitoring open sources (news, social media, websites, official sources) to identify potential threats and risks to FPS protected federal facilities and FPS operations.
  • Identify and document information that meets FPS Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs) and Critical Information Requirements (CCIRs), and coordinate conveyance of threat information to PIID leadership, the Senior Watch Officer (SWO), and appropriate regional leadership in accordance with FPS investigative and reporting procedures.
  • Comply with DHS and FPS policies governing privacy, civil liberties, and proper handling of sensitive information while collecting, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence.
  • Prepare the Daily Intelligence Review Bulletin (DIRB) by accessing law enforcement and intelligence systems daily, identifying relevant topics for executive-level consumption, and drafting the DIRB for PIID Director review on established timelines.
  • Brief the DIRB to FPS Executive Leadership Team (ELT) as required, incorporating operational context, relevance to FPS mission impacts, and clear articulation of threat significance.
  • Finalize and release the DIRB daily, ensuring correct classification markings, dissemination controls, and distribution to authorized recipients with a validated “need to know.”
  • Support field and HQ Requests for Information (RFIs) and law enforcement system checks by gathering requested information, packaging results appropriately, and conveying outputs to the requestor and designated FPS stakeholders while maintaining auditability/metrics for performance management.
  • Maintain functional access and proficiency within relevant law enforcement and intelligence systems (as authorized) including LEIMS, TECS, WebRMS, EIS, TAVISS, HSIN, DCII, Accurint, HSDN, and JWICS, and maintain proficiency as systems, tools, and procedures evolve.
  • Contribute to FPS Critical Incident Management by taking the lead on intelligence data gathering for critical incidents identified by the SWO and FPS ELT, correlating information from other DHS watch centers and authorized systems for incorporation into FPS reporting products.
  • Assist the SWO and FPS personnel with preparing and disseminating critical incident intelligence updates and reporting products, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with classification and sensitive handling requirements.
  • Conduct research and data management in support of PIID analytic production and other agency needs by using FPS systems to gather, analyze, and report data on operational activity, trends, and threats affecting FPS mission performance
  • Collaborate with PIID IAIB and IB Desk Officers to identify trends in threats, criminal activities, and operational impacts, and generate data-driven briefings, reports, and products for FPS HQ as required.
  • Support development and drafting of PIID intelligence and information reports in accordance with applicable FPS directives and established reporting standards.
