About The Position

From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products. As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.
The YouTube Connections team is focusing on a new, high-impact area for YouTube, focused on empowering users to connect, engage, and create with their existing circles. We are seeking a talented UX Designer to join us. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a robust cross-functional team and benefit from dedicated support and mentorship from other executive designers as you design end-to-end user experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
• Experience designing, building, or launching consumer-facing products.
• Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working on conversational design experiences, and GenAI tools.
• Experience in the mobile-first social application space.
• Experience in UX/UI animation.
• Experience with visual design in product or UX design environments.
• Experience creating interactive prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, and Designers to define a user-centered goal and execute end-to-end connected experiences on YouTube.
• Produce high-fidelity mocks, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, ensuring all visual specs are polished and ready for implementation.
• Drive the product roadmap through ideation, user testing, and engaged research to stay ahead of evolving industry trends.
• Manage design workflows across multiple concurrent projects, balancing iterative updates with long-term innovation.
• Contribute to a feedback-driven creative culture while experimenting with and mastering AI tools to optimize design workflows.
