About The Position

The Advocacy/Policy Intern will provide foundational research and strategic analysis to support the Advocacy Department’s expansion into two emerging focus areas: community health pharmacy operations and insurance brokerage policy. The intern will analyze the legislative landscape, historical context, and stakeholder environments for these sectors, ultimately producing a comprehensive policy brief that will inform the company’s long-term advocacy strategy. This is a temporary, part-time position working approximately ten (10) hours per week for four (4) weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Policy Research & Mapping: Conduct in-depth research into the legislative history and current regulatory themes surrounding Community Health Center (CHC) pharmacies and the insurance brokerage industry.
  • Stakeholder Identification: Identify key influencers, government agencies, trade associations, and community partners relevant to both sectors to map potential advocacy alliances.
  • Opportunity Analysis: Pinpoint upcoming legislative windows, regulatory changes, or public policy shifts that present opportunities or risks for the organization.
  • Environmental Scanning: Monitor active bills, policy debates, and media coverage to provide real-time context for the advocacy team.
  • Final Deliverable Synthesis: Develop and present a formal policy analysis (in document and/or slide deck format) that outlines background info, current trends, and recommended next steps for the Advocacy team.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and protected information
  • Perform other routine support duties as assigned
