POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES: The Audit Intern is responsible for performing audits under the supervision of a full-time auditor. This position is also responsible for assisting in general audit functions including legal and regulatory compliance monitoring and data compilation. This is a paid internship slated to begin May 2026 and ending in May 2027. In addition, this position is 100% in office in Louisville, KY during the entire internship. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • Active pursuit of a Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related degree with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027 required.
  • Cumulative GPA 2.5 or greater required.
  • Willing to work 40 hours during the summer months and up to 24 hours during the fall/spring semesters.
  • Demonstrated ability in Word, Excel, and Internet applications.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
  • Approach tasks with a sense of urgency and adhere to assigned deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal (written and verbal) skills.
  • Travel between Republic Banking facilities may be required including occasional out of town travel.
  • Flexible work schedule may include some evenings, weekends, and/or overtime.
  • Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning work on assigned segments of the assigned audit.
  • Assist in performing the audit in accordance with the approved program and in a professional manner.
  • Review transactions, documents, records, reports and methods for accuracy and effectiveness
  • Prepare acceptable working papers which record and summarize data on assigned audit segment.
  • Assist in the performance of special reviews at the request of management.
  • Typical audit activities performed include financial and operational audits of first line business units, SOX control testing, s and audits of banking center operations.
  • Throughout the program year, you will benefit from continuous coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to support your professional growth.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required.
  • Model and foster behaviors that support the Bank’s values and corporate culture creating an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, accountability, and dedication to the organization.
  • Willingly perform all other duties and projects as assigned.
